Requirements:

MS Access is sometimes used as a database backend in the web and desktop applications. Databases of such applications are quite often changed. E.g we creat a small web application which uses the MS Access database and deploys it on the web server. It works perfectly. Then we have a bright idea to add new interesting functionality to the application. These new features will entail some changes in the database structure, so we need to remember or record these changes to add them to the server's database later.

Exactly for such cases the DbWeigher was created! It allows to compare visually. It is not necessary to keep changes in the head or record them, just use DbWeigher. The changes are highlighted by different colors, you will see them at once.

The tool is simple in use like the well-known visual comparison text tools, such as windiff and winmerge. The main part of the utility is a window separated by splitter. Both parts of the window show the changed elements of 2 databases. If a database element was changed and is present in both databases, it can be seen in both subwindows. If only one database has this element, it is displayed only in the appopriate part of the window.

The table User is in both databases. Some elements of this table were modified, so they are marked as "Changed". The index UserIndex is the part of the corresponding table of the database Database1, but not of that in the Database2, so it is marked as "Deleted". The relationship doesn't exist in the Database1 but exists in the Database2 and is marked "Added".

DbWeigher also produces a SQL script (DDL) and a text report for databases differences. The SQL script can be executed using DBWConsole to syncronize databases' structures.
